Supported Residential Services Visiting (RSVP)
The RSVP program offers social support to socially isolated pension only residents living in Supported Residential Services (SRS) facilities. Residents within a SRS include frail aged people and those with disabilities. Residents of SRSs are often financially disadvantaged.
The program offers friendship, self development and assists residents to intergrate into their local community.
This is achieved by conducting regular Bus Trips, In-House Activities and One to One & Group Visiting.
People wishing to become a volunteer are required to undergo an assessment, police check and attend training. Once they are approved, volunteers are provided with ongoing support and supervision and are matched with a resident to participate either in a one to one match, or in group activities.
The Residential Services Visiting Program is funded through DHS HACC.
If you would like to volunteer with the RSVP please contact:
Patrick Walsh on 5335 3506 or Val Heffernan on 5335 3501.
